Day 1
Pick up from Bucharest
We will pick you from the Bucharest airport.
Drive North to Transylvania. Our starting point is located in the mountainous area of Bran - Moeciu
Spend the night in Moeciu. |

Day 2
Bran Castle and Rasnov Fortress
Descend gradually 14 kilometers to the famous Bran Castle A wonderful 12 kilometers follows
through the open field, to the 14th century fortress of Rasnov. The loop continues then 9 kilometers to Zarnesti - the small town at the feet of Piatra Craiului national Park, then 20 kilometers more to Moeciu.

Day 3
Between The Transylvanian Alps and Olt river
The trip starts from Zarnesti, with a short uphill.
The remaining 40 kilometer takes you through the peaceful villages at the feet of The Fagaras Mountains (Transylvanian Alps) No major uphill today
On the evening we
arrive to a 3***Hotel in the Sambata Valley, near the superb Sambata Monastery.

Day 4
The Transfagarasan pass
Visit the Sambata monastery - a marvelous piece of Romanian eclectic architecture
Onward we start cycling further west 25 more kilometers to Balea Valley, the start of the Transfagarasan alpine road.
The scenic road ascends through the heart of the Fagaras
Mountains, the highest road pass in Romania.
Cycle up along the Balea waterfalls, through the pine woods, until the
valley opens up, revealing a breathtaking spectacle everywhere you turn your head. Overnight in Balea Valley. |

Day 5
Downhill
the Transylvanian Alps, Poienari (the true castle of Dracula)
Cross the tunnel on the southern side of the
Fagaras ridge. A massive downhill follows, passing
waterfalls, and creeks, after each bend the muntain just opens itself offering you amazing scenery. The road then follows the Arges valley, and along the
Vidraru Lake. Just 3 kilometers from the lake we will
visit the Poienari fortress 14th century, the true fortress of Vlad Dracula. There will be a short hike up to this vulture nest castle - the stairs of 1480 steps. Overnight in Curtea de Arges |

Day 6
The sub-carpathian hills
Visit the Arges Monastery 16 century - the legend says this church could only be erected after Manole - the craftsman - built his wife alive in the foundation.
After multiple ascents you arrive to Campulung - first
capital of the old Romanian province of Wallachia.
After Campulung the road easily ascends,
between the Bucegi mountains and Piatra Craiului mountains, passing through picturesque
traditional villages

Day 7
The Rucar - Bran Pass
In the morning there will be a short walk through the tight canyon just 100 yards away from the Hotel
One of the most scenic,
roads in Romania, the Fundata Pass ( 1300 meters elevation) takes us back to Transylvania.
This used to be the main trading route between the two Romanian provinces, until 1821.
