Romania Mountain Biking Tour

  Day 1

Pick up from the Bucharest airport
Drive to Moeciu along the scenic Prahova Valley
Accommodation in Moeciu.

Day 2

Take the cable car to the high plateau of Bucegi mountain lake. visit the Romanian sphinx - a rock carved by winds, resembling to a human face.
Descend to Bulboci Lake, then ascend gradually through the tight Tartars Gorge along the Ialomita Valley, 6 more kilometers to our hotel Pestera Hotel*** in Bucegi National Park.

Day 3

Visit the Ialomitei Cave, near to hotel
From the cave we descend quickly back to Bulboci lake, and further uphill to the edge of Dichiu Mountain.Descend 15 km to Sinaia.

Day 4

Early in the morning, after breakfast we go for the Bran Castle, fortified medieval castle, often referred to as Dracula's Castle, was built in 1377 to protect nearby Brasov from invaders. The castle sits high atop a 200 ft. tall rock overlooking the picturesque village of Bran.

Transfer the bikes to Fundata. From here we take the bikes for a 35 km tour, mostly on forestry roads passing through traditional Romanian mountain villages

After less than 3 hours of pedaling we reach the Dambovicioara Valley and it’s beautiful gorges. The van will wait for us to transfer us back to Fundata for a great and technical downhill back to our accommodation in Moeciu

Day 5

Visit Brasov – the most important medieval city in the area and one of the most visited cities in Romania. Great sites to visit as The Black Church, the main square, the old defense walls that are still well preserved on the south and west side of the old city the watch towers and the narrowest street in Europe are just a few points on this day’s agenda.

Day 6

Visit the Rasnov Fortress - founded around 1225 by Teutonic Knights. The superb location of this fortress allows us a great view over the surrounding mountains.

Round trip on forestry roads on the eastern side of Piatra Craiului Mountains. The trip will take us through the dispersed villages of Pestera and Magura. Easy - moderate road 31 km

Day 7

Transfer to Bucharest airport.

Tour price 690 EURO / person. Price is based on double occupancy (2 persons in room) single supplements are also available.
